During our first meeting, we listen to what your ideas are to improve your living space. Once we understand your goals and know what problem needs a creative solution, then we establish a ballpark budget.
Expectations must be realistic. If the budget doesn't have enough wiggle room to include that French door you've always wanted, perhaps changing the countertops in the kitchen will free up more in the budget. We work with you to give you the best combination of choices to make your budget go as far as it can.
With feasibility established, we move to the next step: drawings and specifications. Design details are worked out, such as floor plans, cabinet lay-out, interior and exterior finishes, etc. so that the pricing can be verified. The final step of the design development phase is the creation of drawings and written specifications.
Once the construction contract is signed, the project is then scheduled. Suppliers and trade contractors are notified of their intended delivery and start dates. Ordering deadlines are determined for materials. A pre-construction meeting is arranged so you can meet the project manager, the person who will handle day-to-day, onsite operations. During this meeting we will clarify all the logistics of the project (what time work begins, dumpster placement, material storage, security issues, pet security, etc.). During construction, we have weekly homeowner/contractor meetings and keep a jobsite notebook with essential documents. We have daily site clean-up, and our employees and trade contractors have firm rules regarding how to conduct themselves while in your home (no smoking, no loud music, etc.).
After the construction period, we have a final walk-through and make note of any small overlooked detail, which is corrected immediately. In 30 days, we have a warranty follow-up. At any time that you need us after the project, we are responsive. Post-project surveys also help us to continually improve our services, and we invite you to respond.
